Project description
The Development of Labour Market Relevant Master, PhD and Chair Programs supports interested Higher Education institutions in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo, Montenegro and Serbia in the creation of tailor-made study programs, whose graduates are most needed in the local labour market. Therefore, the main goals are enhancing the employability of graduates, supporting mutual cooperation between South Eastern European (SEE) universities and the labour market and further development and modernisation of SEE Higher Education (HE) in order to facilitate the transition of HE in SEE towards European Standards (Bologna Process) and international competitiveness.
The development of the new study programs is realised in close cooperation with:
- Companies or institutions as partners, in order to develop a sustainable, mutually enriching environment of cooperation between the respective SEE universities and their labour market.
- Austrian Higher Education institutions (cooperation or twinning, i.e. “loose” or “institutionalised”partnerships).
Other key components of this project support opening of the new study programs (or certain modules) for eLearning, distance learning and LifeLongLearning and teaching staff mobility.
The project emphasizes strategic support to the development of programs focusing on (1) labour market demands resulting in practical application of knowledge, (2) cooperation with Austrian HE institutions and (3) Brain Gain effect.
In the development of the programs and their courses the grantees are supported through several measures, such as: scholarships for coordination of the project and for the development of each course; teacher training activities; literature purchase in the relevant fields; script writing and printing; study visits; and, under certain conditions, equipment purchase.
