Kick-off event of new program Sustainable Higher Education and Research in Kosovo (SHER)
On October 3, 2024, the kick-off of our new program Sustainable Higher Education and Research in Kosovo (SHER) in Prishtina was attended by more than 100 stakeholders. This event marked the official launch of the new initiative which aims to strengthen Kosovo’s higher education and research sector in line with European and international standards. The program further contributes to a sustainable, evidence-based, needs-oriented and gender-responsive higher education and research sector in Kosovo.
The program is funded by Austrian Development Agency and co-financed by the Ministry of Education, Science, Technology, and Innovation. SHER is implemented by a highly experienced Austrian consortium represented by World University Service (WUS Austria) as the lead partner, the Centre for Social Innovation (ZSI), and the OeAD-GmbH – Agentur für Bildung und Internationalisierung.
During the event, we were honored by the presence of the Minister of Education,
Science, Technology, and Innovation, Ms. Arbërie Nagavci, and the Austrian
Ambassador to Kosovo, H.E. Georg Schnetzer, who both delivered inspiring
speeches. Representatives from the implementing Consortium, Ms. Veronika Nitsche from WUS Austria, Ms. Elke Dall from ZSI, and Ms. Martina Friedrich from OeAD as well as the
Programme Leader, Mr. Aqim Emurli, gave insightful presentations outlining the
program’s goals and the collaborative efforts driving its implementation.
