Project description

The project aims to empower women and girls to strengthen reproductive health and combat period poverty targeting students, teachers, and social workers in the slums of Korogocho/Nairobi.

This will be achieved through collaboration with schools and awareness-raising outreach work on the topics of reproductive health and period poverty. Main results of the project will include:

  1. Guidelines on reproductive health and period poverty for social workers
  2. Dialogue forum on reproductive health and period poverty with local schools in the slums of Korogocho
  3. Awareness raising in schools and outreach work by SCF’s social workers targeting girls and their families in the slums of Korogocho
  4. Final dissemination workshop

This project is a follow up to the projects: Improving life skills of young mothers in the slums of Nairobi (implemented in 2022) and Promotion of Children's Rights in the Slums of Nairobi (implemented in 2023).
