Conference “Linking Higher Education and Economy” in Vienna
Vienna. From July 5-10, 2010 the finals of the Balkan Case Challenge (BCC) took place in Vienna. This initiative has become a major project in the efforts of WUS Austria to link higher education and economy and consequently to improve employability in South Eastern Europe (SEE). In order to follow up the goals of this project a conference about the benefits and challenges of links between universities and enterprises was organized on July 6. It was used to discuss current developments and potential new joint projects in this field.
Several experts from the WU (Vienna University of Economics and Business), from the university career centers in Graz, Vienna and Sarajevo as well as from the top talent network students4excellence gave lectures on the relevance of university-enterprise cooperation. The lectures were followed by two workshops about “New Teaching and Learning Methods – Development of Labor Market Oriented Curricula and Teaching Modules” and “Best Practices in Career Guiding and Career Counseling” and a closing discussion about joint activities and cross-border cooperation between all participating countries. More information about the lectures and a list of conference participants can be found here.
