Kosova Case Challenge 2009
The Opening Ceremony officially launched the implementation of the project. Keynote speakers of the Opening Ceremony were: Prof. Dr. Avdulla Alija, Director of the Higher Education Department, Mr. Hubert Beidinger, Consul of the Austrian Embassy in Prishtina, Mr. Esat Kelmendi, General Secretary of the University of Prishtina, Mr. David Cowles, Chief of Party of the KPEP USAID, Mr. Andreas Krammer, WUS Austria Head Office Graz, But Dedaj, Regional Manager of WUS Austria Prishtina Office and Ms. Mjellma Carabregu BCC Local Coordinator in Kosova.
Training part intended to provide students with necessary skills on presentation,career planning, and for competing disciplines. Trainings were delivered by distinguished local and international trainers.
44 top students of the Higher Education in Kosova competed in four different disciplines: USAID KPEP Business Case Competition, Information Communication Technology Case Competition, LawMoot Court and Model European Council. The Business Case Competition was supported from Kosovo Private Enterprise Program, with the financial support oft he USAID. Case dealt with the Wood Processing export. Students in all disciplines competed through the case study method.
The jury panels consisted of renowned professors, representatives of the companies, institutions, and international organization. They selected finalists for the international case study competition BCC in Vienna.
Before the finalists announcement, Recruitment Night was organized. Different companies and international organizations had the possibility to meet the informal part of the participants. The students had the possibility to discuss with the employers career opportunities. During the event some of the participants were identified by partners for recruitment.

Kosova Case Challenge represents sub competition for the BCC final in Vienna. The main aim of the project is provision of the concrete job opportunities and opening up new perspectives for the young professional by strengthening links between Higher Education and Economy.
