Master Studies Development Program Training Seminar: March 15 – 18, 2009, Kopaonik, Serbia
Belgrade. WUS Austria Belgrade Office organized a seminar on linking Serbian HE institutions with local labour market (seminar venue: Sunny Heights conference center, Kopaonik, Serbia). The aim of the seminar was to cover topics related to linking HE and economy as well as instruments for establishment of that link, thus facilitating the implementation of supported MSDP projects (for some basic facts related to MSDP program click here).
The seminar brought together the lecturers from supported projects along with the university representatives, EU and local experts, and representatives of the labour market partner companies (for the list of participants click here).
On the first day (for the agenda of the seminar click here) several plenary sessions were organized. During these sessions the participants had an opportunity to hear about the experiences from EU and the country (for the experts’ presentations click here) and to obtain additional information through open discussions.
On the second day, the participants were engaged in discussions through their respective working groups. The group work was focused on more direct and practical approach by dealing with various relevant issues like goals and structure of a study program, determining the labour market relevance through contact with employers, required competences, learning outcomes, etc. Working groups were set up according to the subjects of their courses:
- Working group one: Master in Remote Control, Technical Faculty, Čačak, University of Kragujevac; Master Program in Electronics, Faculty of Technical Sciences, University of Novi Sad.
- Working group two: Master in Biochemistry, Faculty of Chemistry, University of Belgrade; Environmental Protection in Agriculture, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Belgrade.
- Working group three: Master in Regional Policies and Development, University of Novi Sad; Master in HE Management, State University of Novi Pazar (for additional documents used in this group please click here).
On the final day of the event (for the photographs of the seminar click here), representatives of each working group have presented the outcomes of their session to the participants of the seminar (for the outcomes of the working groups click here). The work on these topics provided necessary information and concrete tools for the implementation and quality assurance of Master programs supported through MSDP.
Furthermore, it leads to developing conclusions, concrete tasks and recommendations (for the outcome of participants’ evaluations click here) for the next seminar, which will be held in September 2009.
