Farewell cocktail of “Experiencing Europe” in Belgrade

On the 3rd of October, the Dr. Zoran Djindjic Fund organized a farewell cocktail for the participants in “Experiencing Europe: Serbian Young Professionals in Austria – Zoran Djindjic Internship Programme” in Belgrade, the project financed by the Austrian Development Cooperation and implemented by Dr. Djindjic Fund and WUS Austria. Ms. Ruzica Djindjic, the president of the Dr. Zoran Djindjic Fund, expressed her great pleasure to welcome the Serbian President Boris Tadic, the deputy Prime Minister Bozidar Djelic, the Austrian Ambassador Gerhard Jandl and Almir Kovacevic, Executive Director of WUS Austria.  

The event took place in the villa of the Serbian National Bank. The interest of the media was respectable: Several Serbian TV stations and reporters as well as the Austrian ORF were there to interview the speakers, project partners and participants in the programme. The around 80 guests came from the Serbian public and private sector and from the Austrian companies having branches in Serbia and providing internships for the participants.

The event was opened by a very cordial speech of Boris Tadic who expressed his appreciation for Zoran Djindjic’s work for the Serbian Republic and underlined the importance of this project for the young professionals. The same was stated by Bozidar Djelic who also thanked the Austrian Minister for European and Internationals Affairs Ursula Plassnik and Ruzica Djindjic for the initiation of this project. Gerhard Jandl from the Austrian Embassy in Belgrade also found the right words in Serbian language to welcome the future interns to Austria and to thank the organizers for their professional work when implementing this project. The final speaker was Almir Kovacevic from World University Service Austria.

After the official part during the buffet, the participants had the possibility of getting in contact with the different prominent guests, of taking photos with them and discussing their experiences they already made in Austria and their expectations for their stay.
