Following the successful implementation of QA seminars at University of Bihac, University of Banja Luka, University Dzemal Bijedic in Mostar, and University of Mostar in Bihać, on January 26 the seminar „Quality Assurance at University of Tuzla“ took place. SUS B&H, WUS Austria and University of Tuzla were the organizers of the Seminar, which was foreseen through the TEMPUS project „Strengthening QA in B&H“ and WUS Austria's new project „Structural Development of QA in Higher Education“ which is financed by the Leichtenstein government and the Austrian Development Cooperation.

The seminar was officially opened by the rector of the University of Tuzla prof. dr. Dzemo Tufekcic who welcomed all 65 seminar participants and emphisized the importance of quality assurance in higher education. Opening addresses were also delivered by Lejla Huskic MA, Head of Office of SUS B&H, and Dino Mujkić MA, the Regional Manager of WUS Austria.

The chief idea behind this activity was to provide necessary support and high quality consultancy services to QA Centers personnel and higher education institutions in B&H in order to support the implementation of the objectives of the Bologna Process into their higher educational systems. To this aim WUS Austria invited an EU expert on the subject, Dr. Patricia Georgieva, from the National Evaluation and Accreditation Agency in Sofia, Bulgaria, who readily shared her expertise in the field of quality assurance in staff development. The participants were also introduced to the specific situation at University of Tuzla with regard to QA processes through a detailed presentation by Dr. Edin Delic, QA Coordinator at University of Tuzla, and M.Sc. Enes Osmancevic.

One segment of the seminar was dedicated to promotion of a new book “Internal Quality Assurance Guidelines” developed by Dr. Delic and M.Sc. Osmancevic and financed through the project “Structural Development of Quality Assurance in Higher Education”. The day before, on January 25th the internal QA guidelines were presented to the wider academic auditorium at University of Tuzla. Both events received wide media coverage as numerous media representatives of radio and TV stations followed up on this two-day event.
