Round Tables at Serbian Universities – Presentation of New ADA-WUS Project

Between April 18 and May 8, 2008, representatives of WUS AUSTRIA Belgrade office announced the beginning of the implementation of a new support program of WUS AUSTRIA: "Serbia 2007-2010: Improving Quality, Knowledge and Skills for Economic Development; Support to Reforms in Higher Education in Serbia", financed through the Austrian Development Corporation. The foreseen implementation timeframe is three years (November 2007 – October 2010), with the budget of EUR 1,903.800.

Info-days were organized at the rectorates of Serbian universities as it follows:

• Novi Pazar – April 18th, 2008
• Belgrade – April 22nd, 2008
• Novi Sad – April 23rd, 2008
• Kragujevac – April 24th, 2008
• Nis – May 8th, 2008

Goran Ostojic, WUS AUSTRIA Regional Manager, gave an overview of the project Master Studies Development Program, MSDP, and its components, with special regard to development of new and adaptation of existing master programs focusing on the relevant needs of the labour market. Dusan Bugarski, Head of Belgrade office, spoke about deadlines, application and selection procedures and related technical details. More information about this project can be found here.

Great interest for the new project was shown by the faculties. Rectors, vice-rectors, deans, professors and assistants were present at each event. In vivid Q and A sessions many questions were raised and lot of topics were discussed. Having in mind the nature of the program, it is important to notice that the representatives of several companies took part, as well.

We do hope that our cooperation with Serbian universities in the realization of this program will be as succesfull and in the spirit of mutual understanding as it was in previous years.
