Podgorica. On the 12th of March, WUS Austria signed a Protocol of Cooperation with The Centre for Effective Development of Higher Education
(CERVO). Goran Drakul (Business Manager of WUS Austria), Alen Nikezic
(Head of CERVO), Drazen Blazic (Project Manager “Open days 2008”) and
the team of WUS Austria in Montenegro, discussed further cooperation.
The Ministry of Education and Science of Montenegro and CERVO organize “Open Days 2008” – The Second Higher Education Fair and The Scholarship Fair. The project “Open Days 2008” will take place in three municipalities in Montenegro (Podgorica, Bar and Bijelo Polje), in the period from April 14 to 18, 2008.
The Scholarship Fair is a unique
event where all scholarships and other forms of financial support
available to Montenegrin citizens concerning higher education will be
presented in one place.
WUS Austria will be among exhibitors at
the Scholarship Fair together with other institutions (all faculties
from Montenegro, numerous international organisations and embassies)
which offer scholarships or any other sort of support for studying in
Montenegro or abroad. WUS Austria will present itself and the ongoing
projects with the focus on the scholarship project “Cooperation between
Austrian and Montenegrin Higher Education Institutions”.
WUS Austria does not only participate in the Fair, but is also a silver sponsor of “Open Days 2008”. This cooperation offers great opportunities for strengthening and democratizing higher education in Montenegro.
Common goals put together by the above organizations are as follows:
- Promotion of higher education in Montenegro
- Providing help for young people to decide on their career
- Preventing brain drain by obtaining high-quality, highly educated academic staff, who will be able to meet challenges ahead
