VSport – Video on Volunteers in Sports
Sport organizations and clubs all over Europe play a crucial role in encouraging and engaging people to get physically active. The sport sector, especially on the local level, relies heavily on volunteers in sports to engage more people in doing sports. The involvement of volunteers in sports is a key factor to the success and long-term sustainability of sport clubs, organizations, and events. In the framework of the Erasmus+ project “VSport – Volunteers in Sport”, WUS Austria partnered with the Orienteering Club Graz (OLC) and produced a video where we asked the chairman and some volunteers what they like in orienteering, why they engage in volunteering and what the challenges of finding and retaining volunteers are.
