Developing creative learning opportunities for young people across Europe: arted Teaching and Learning Events
The ERASMUS+ funded DEAPS/arted project brings together artists educators and researchers who teach a range of creative disciplines, from writing to drama to film making, across five countries in Europe. Over the past three years, we have co-produced open access guides which aim to bring creativity into the classroom and home. The project partners shared the developed resources and knowledge with teachers, pre-service teachers, and carers of young people in a series of teaching and learning events across Europe. The project partners from UK, Iceland, Germany, Greece, and Italy witnessed the effect and importance of face-to-face meetings in our project when working on research and development of education and creativity and its importance of going through intellectual outputs together and learning from each other.
The teaching and learning event in Reykjavik, Iceland (April 17-19, 2023) focused on our guide for primary school teachers. The event in Thessaloniki, Greece (April 25-27, 2023) put our audio-visual resources for parents and carers in the focus. The guide for secondary school teachers was the core of the teaching and learning event in Berlin, Germany (May 24-26, 2023). The teaching and learning event in Leeds, UK (July 11-13, 2023) focused on our guide for trainee teachers and was followed by an international conference for teachers, artist educators, researchers and policy makers who wanted to re-wild education to empower learners to build positive hopeful futures together. At the same time, it marked the end of our joint three-year project journey.
