Third and Final Meeting of TEMPUS Project “Strengthening Quality Assurance in BiH”
Sarajevo. On the 28th of January 2008, the third and final meeting of the Consortium for the TEMPUS Project ''Strengthening Quality Assurance in Bosnia and Herzegovina'' (UM_JEP_19074-2004) was held in the ACCESS Centre in Sarajevo.
Representatives of the University of Graz, University of Ljubljana, all public Universities in BiH (university management representatives, vice rectors, secretary generals, professors and QA coordinators), WUS Austria representatives and SUS BiH representatives came together in Sarajevo to summarize all the activities implemented through the abovementioned project and to plan possible further actions.
The main goal of this project was to further reform BiH higher education in accordance with the Bologna standards. This goal was approached through development of an internal quality assurance system, which included the establishment of quality assurance centers at each university.
The four main results achieved through the project were:
- Training of quality assurance experts as well as further training of the academic and administrative staff and student population at BiH universities (consortium members) in practicing quality assurance.
- Establishment of quality assurance centers at all BiH universities with already trained staff, including equipment consisting of the required technical components.
- Dissemination of information on the existence and work of new quality assurance centers among the BiH academic and student community through distribution of printed brochures, internet and media articles.
- Networking of the quality assurance centers, both among themselves and with the peer-centers abroad.
