SEEVAL - International Trainers' Training on SEL, Session 7
Our seventh and last session of the SEEVAL International Trainers' Training took place on June 24, 2021.
The session consisted of two parts, led by members of the SEEVAL project. In the first part our colleague Dr. Paula de Waal from Ca' Foscari University of Venice, Italy, talked about Formative Assessment to Social and Emotional Learning (SEL), in particular how to plan an evaluation, which tools can be used, and which main points should be kept in mind.
The final part of the training was dedicated to a Whole School Approach to SEL and introduced by Prof. Carmel Cefai from the University of Malta. Our colleague Reni Dimova from the Centre for Creative Training in Sofia, Bulgaria, gave an overview of the framework based on a CASEL school guide while our coordinator Dr. Vera Todorova from Trakia University in Stara Zagora, Bulgaria, led a breakout room session to discuss challenges of and opportunities for the adaptation of Social and Emotional Learning in participants´ schools and how they could be addressed.
We would like to thank all participants for their active engagement and interest in the topic! We look forward working with you in the upcoming 2 years of the SEEVAL project in implementing Social and Emotional Learning in the schools!
And as our coordinator concluded: “Clearly this training is not the end, it is the beginning of our work!”
