InterCap Internship Report
In the course of the two-day training on the topics of global learning through the Intercap project, I became aware of the possibility of an internship at Welthaus Graz. I was given the opportunity to gain an insight into the curricula of the agricultural and nutritional schools and technical schools in Styria. During my one-month internship, I analyzed school curricula in terms of interfaces with topics of global learning and possible points of contact for further deepening or the creation of new areas.
During the entire duration of the internship in the team of the Welthaus in Graz, I got a feeling of togetherness, which in times like these would not be physically allowed. The open encounter of the entire team and the support from my mentor made it possible for me to feel part of the team. Unfortunately, due to the Covid-19 restrictions, no face-to-face meeting could take place and we had to switch to virtual meeting tools, trying to make the best of the situation and, despite the distance between my mentor, my colleagues and myself, I never left myself alone felt. In addition, I was supported by WUS Austria at the beginning there was an introductory meeting with Natasa Tadic, who was available for questions at any time and to whom I would also like to express my thanks.
The internship and the accompanying analysis of the curricula opened up new and diverse perspectives for me. On the one hand, I was able to take a closer look at the framework plans of the agricultural and nutritional schools, as well as the departments for fruit growing, viticulture and cellar management, as well as forestry and get to know the various schools in Styria better.
On the other hand, I became really aware of the many interfaces and sub-areas of global learning and I looked at how and where this content fits into the curriculum. I was able to determine that global learning is definitely present, but still see a lot of potential in deepening the topics of sustainability and migration and I am very curious to see how my findings will now be used and processed.
The information gathered is also of great importance to me as I am now very familiar with the curricula. As a future teacher I was able to classify myself in my subjects and the desire to teach at such a school has grown all the more.

Im Zuge der zweitätigen Schulung zu den Themen des globalen Lernens durch das Intercap Projekt wurde ich auf die Möglichkeit eines Praktikums im Welthaus Graz aufmerksam. Mir wurde die Gelegenheit gegeben Einblicke in die Lehrpläne der land- und ernährungswirtschaftlichen Schulen und Fachschulen der Steiermark zu erhalten. Im Zuge meines einmonatigen Praktikums analysierte ich Lehrpläne der Schulen im Hinblick auf Schnittstellen mit Themen des globalen Lernens und mögliche Anknüpfungspunkte für eine weiter Vertiefung oder Schaffung neuer Bereiche.
Während der gesamten Dauer des Praktikums im Team des Welthauses in Graz erhielt ich ein Gefühl der Zusammengehörigkeit, wie es in Zeiten wie diesen rein körperlich gar nicht erlaubt wäre. Die offene Begegnung des gesamten Teams und die Unterstützung seitens meiner Mentorin, ermöglichten es mir, mich als Teil der Kollegenschaft fühlen zu können. Aufgrund der Covid-19 Beschränkungen konnte leider kein persönliches Treffen stattfinden und wir mussten auf virtuelle Online-Meeting-Tools ausweichen, wobei versucht wurde das beste aus der Situation zu machen und ich konnte mich trotz der physischen Distanz zu meiner Mentorin und den Kolleginnen und Kollegen stets kompetent unterstützt fühlen. Daneben wurde ich von WUS Austria unterstützend begleitet, anfangs gab es ein einleitendes Meeting mit Natasa Tadic, die für Fragen jederzeit zur Verfügung stand und der ich meinen Dank ebenso aussprechen möchte.
Das Praktikum und die damit einhergehende Analyse der Lehrpläne eröffneten mir neue und vielfältige Perspektiven. Einerseits konnte ich mir die Rahmenpläne der land- und ernährungswirtschaftlichen Schulen, daneben der Fachbereiche für Obstbau, Weinbau und Kellerwirtschaft, sowie Forstwirtschaft genauer ansehen und die verschiedenen Schulen in der Steiermark besser kennenlernen. Andererseits wurden mir die vielen Schnittstellen und Teilbereiche des globalen Lernens richtig bewusst und ich sah mir an, wie und wo diese Inhalte in den Lehrplänen Platz finden. Ich konnte feststellen, dass globales Lernen durchaus präsent ist, sehe aber noch viel Potential in der Vertiefung der Themen zur Nachhaltigkeit und Migration und bin sehr gespannt, wie meine Erkenntnisse nun genutzt und verarbeitet werden.
Die gesammelten Informationen sind auch für mich von großer Bedeutung, da ich mit den Lehrplänen nun sehr vertraut bin. Als zukünftige Lehrerin konnte ich mich bereits in meine Fächer einordnen und der Wunsch, an einer solchen Schule zu unterrichten, ist nun umso größer geworden.
