KnowHub Project Progress
In the framework of the Erasmus+ project “KnowHub – Reconnecting universities and enterprises to unleash regional innovation and entrepreneurial activity” the third consortium meeting was held on November 23, 2020. Due to COVID-19 the meeting took place online.
The coordinator FH Joanneum presented the overall project progress, and the work package leaders gave an overview on their individual work packages and the upcoming activities.
As one of the first outcomes, the report “University-enterprises cooperation in selected Western Balkan Countries – Report on the potential and activities” has been published. Vital part of this project is the in-depth assessment of the status-quo for the knowledge transfer, innovation and entrepreneurship at the partner country universities and more general, in the national ecosystems of the three Western Balkan countries Albania, Montenegro and Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The partner universities are now in the process of setting up the planned Commercialisation Hubs which includes the procurement of the equipment and the appointment of the staff. The hubs will serve as places for cooperation with enterprises as well as support of students and academic staff to commercialise their research results and entrepreneurial ideas. Also, the practical trainings which were planned as face-to-face trainings including study visits at the involved EU universities, had to be re-organised as online trainings which are currently taking place.
