InterCap Project mentioned in Voluntary National Review on SDGs in Austria (News in English and German)
On May 27, 2020, Austria's first voluntary report on the implementation of the sustainable development goals was approved in the Council of Ministers. The report shows both the achievements to date and the need for further action to ensure that the global goals of the 2030 Agenda are achieved. In particular, the report highlights the three main topics “Digitization”, “Women, Youth and 'leaving no one behind'” and “Climate action and adaptation to climate change”. The specific national implementation steps are of particular importance for SDG Watch Austria (of which WUS Austria is a member) as a civil society. The EU project InterCap implemented by WUS Austria in Austria is cited in the report (page 66) as a positive example of activities in the education sector.
On July 15th the report was presented at the High Level Political Forum (online). On the part of the Austrian government, it was presented by federal minister Edtstadler, together with comments from chancellor Kurz, federal minister Anschober, federal minister Schramböck and federal minister Gewessler. InterCap Projekt wird im ersten freiwilligen nationalen Bericht zur Umsetzung der nachhaltigen Entwicklungsziele in Österreich erwähnt
Am 27. Mai 2020 wurde Österreichs erster freiwilliger Bericht zur Umsetzung der nachhaltigen Entwicklungsziele im Ministerrat beschlossen. Der Bericht zeigt sowohl die bisherigen Errungenschaften als auch den weiteren Handlungsbedarf, um die Erreichung der globalen Ziele der Agenda 2030 sicherzustellen. Der Bericht beleuchtet im Speziellen die drei Schwerpunktthemen „Digitalisierung“, „Frauen, Jugend and 'leaving no one behind'“ sowie „Klimaschutz und Klimawandelanpassung“. Die konkreten nationalen Umsetzungsschritte sind für SDG Watch Austria (wessen Mitglied auch WUS Austria ist) als Zivilgesellschaft dabei von besonderer Bedeutung. Das von WUS Austria in Österreich implementierte EU Projekt InterCap wird im Bericht (auf Seite 66) als positives Beispiel für Aktivitäten im Bildungsbereich angeführt.
Am 15. Juli wurde der Bericht beim High Level Political Forum (online) präsentiert. Seitens der österreichischen Regierung wurde er von FBM Edtstadler präsentiert, gemeinsam mit Kommentaren von BK Kurz, BM Anschober, BM Schramböck und BM Gewessler.
