DESTIN: Kick-off Meeting of an Erasmus + project with a focus on journalism education in the Ukraine, Jan. 1 – Feb. 5, 2019
Bath/UK. The project coordinator, Bath Spa University, brought together representatives of 20 partner organizations, including European and Ukrainian universities, media and student associations, and the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine.
DESTIN stands for “Journalism Education for Democracy in Ukraine: Developing Standards, Integrity and Professionalism”. Consequently, besides operational issues, there were lively discussions on topics such as current challenges in journalism, media discourse and political bias, and ethics in the news. The hospitality of the hosts, the unexpected snow and the social programme brought the participants closer together, on the personal level, but also with regard to the mutual aim to improve journalism education.
