CULTURWB: Strengthening Capacities for Tourism in the Western Balkans, Conference and Consortium Meeting, October 18-19, 2018
Sarajevo/Bosnia and Herzegovina. Chinese inbound and outbound tourism is increasing continuously! A Chinese travel philosophy says: one trip equals reading 10.000 books – Chinese do not make tourism to relax, reports China expert Prof. Arlt, providing new perspectives in tourism at the international Conference for cultural tourism and cultural heritages in Sarajevo this October. The international conference with the topic “Cultural Diversity: the Common Heritage of Humanity” was organized by Prof. Dino Mujkic together with the CULTURWB team and powered by the EU Erasmus plus program. Key note speakers together with the audience were discussing the right balance between the public and private sector in financing tourism initiatives and questioning the need for authenticity when promoting tourist destinations. Tourism is about creating a story, about development of a product not about the truth or telling authentic stories, so Prof. Friedl, FH Joanneum. Make people believe, that they are living a myth!
The conference was followed by a consortium meeting of the CULTURWB partners, which focused on the status quo of the work packages and the upcoming activities.
