International Trainings on Migration held in Armenia, Azerbaijan and Georgia within PROMIG project

Yerevan, Baku and Tbilisi. In March 2018 partner universities hosted international trainings held by the University of Alicante, on topics related to Migration. The trainings were held within the Erasmus+ project "Promoting Migration Studies in Higher Education" (PROMIG).

 

On March 26 2018, Russian-Armenian University hosted a training on Socio-Economic issues of migration. During the training, visiting professors from the University of Alicante Oana Driha, Ph.D. in Economic Science and Business, and María Jiménez Delgado, Ph.D. in Sociology, presented the following topics: 

  • Migration and Economic Development
  • Labor Market and Migration
  • Education and Migration
  • Migrants’ Social and Cultural Integration
 
The training gathered more than 60 participants, including undergraduate and graduate students, young scholars and academic staff from Russian-Armenian University, Armenian State University of Economics, representatives of the Armenian office of the International Organization for Migration (IOM), “Armenian Caritas” benevolent NGO, and the Erasmus+ office in Armenia. Upon the completion of the training, the trainers and participants received certificates.

 

On March 28 2018 trainings were held at Tbilisi State University on the topics of Labour Migration and Economic Development, Education and Migration. Participants from different Universities and different target groups were invited to attend trainings. 

 

On March 30 2018 University of Alicante delivered trainings at Khazar University. Trainings were used for dissemination purposes and for spreading word about Migration Studies within different target groups. Professors Oana Driha and Maria Dolores-Delgado covered topics related to the Education and Migration; Economic Development and Migration.

 

The Erasmus+ PROMIG project ("Promoting Migration Studies in Higher Education") was launched in October 2016. The project organized a number of trainings on the topic of migration in  Armenia, Georgia and Azerbaijan.
