KTU - new project kick off in Graz, February 24-26, 2014
Graz. More than 20 professionals from Ukraine, Hungary, Spain, Sweden and Austria met in Graz from February 24-26, 2014 to kick-start a new, joint EU Tempus Project - “Knowledge Transfer Unit - From Applied Research and Technology-Entrepreneurial Know-How Exchange to Development of Interdisciplinary Curricula Modules (KTU)”. The meeting was held at the Fachhochschule Joanneum (FH J) and gathered representatives from the eighteen members of the project Consortium.
The KTU project aims to develop sustainable relationships between universities and the economy in Ukraine and is coordinated by the FH J. With the support of the EU partners from Austria, Hungary, Spain and Sweden, the partner country universities in Ukraine will establish Knowledge Transfer Units and develop their capacities. By working jointly on pilot projects, universities and enterprises will develop direct and sustainable relationships that are expected to contribute to the development of both universities and the national economy.
The kick off meeting provided an important platform for the partners to address key issues related to project implementation and administration. During the meeting, Ukrainian partners jointly with the EU partners also developed a draft strategy for the future KTUs. In addition, the meeting included a study visit to the FH Joanneum, where partners gained valuable insights on knowledge transfer and different study programmes. We are looking forward to our further collaboration on this project with all our partners!
