GOVERN - new project kick-off in Yerevan
Yerevan. The kick-off meeting of the new TEMPUS project GOVERN – “Fostering Autonomy and Accountability: Development of State-of-the-art HE Management System for Efficient Changes in Line with Bologna Principles” took place in Yerevan, Armenia January 15-16, 2014. The meeting was held at the Yerevan State Academy of Fine Arts and it gathered representatives from twenty-two institutions of the project consortium. Topics such as establishing the Governing Board in order to take care of the project decision-making and strategic management, technical issues, financial issues and a work plan for the following six month period were the main topics of discussion during the two-day meeting.
This three year project is coordinated by Yerevan State Academy of Fine Arts and its main objectives, in order to enhance autonomy and accountability of HEIs in Armenia, are the following:
- Capacity building of administrative staff for managing system changes efficiently;
- Revision of the legal (system level) and regulatory (HEI level) frameworks in line with Bologna action lines;
- Establishment of the state-of-the-art university management system through overhaul of approaches to system changes: strategic, financial, and human resource management;
- Introduction of working approaches to student-centered educational provisions.
