BCC Workshop: “Contemporary Learning and Teaching Methods with Practical Orientation”
The workshop was opened by Mr. Sc. But Dedaj, Prishtina WUS Austria Regional Manager, who, among others, stressed out the efforts and challenges that the UP is facing in adopting contemporary teaching methods and trends. Additionally, he mentioned the importance of finding proper routs to stimulate the cooperation between the Faculties and the businesses and the benefits from this cooperation.
Prof. Dr. Ferdije Zhushi-Etemi, Director of Kosovar Accreditation Agency and Professor at the Faculty of Natural Sciences, University of Prishtina, in her presentation “Local Experiences on Contemporary Teaching & Learning Methods” pointed out to some of the teaching methods that are used by the UP`s teachers including other methods that are effective to be used in the future; the possibilities and importance of using the different sources during teaching and learning process. “This should be a lifelong process”, she said.
Dr. Johannes Leitner, from WU Vienna University of Business and Economics held a presentation with the topic: “International Experiences and Methods of Linking Levels of Higher Education with Companies”. He brought in the experience of Austria to this issue. “The cooperation between University and businesses, the opportunities that are given to the students to develop their knowledge and practical skills are crucial in increasing the employability of graduates” he said.
Participants of this workshop, deans, vice-deans and students, had the possibility to discuss about these issues. Students expressed their concerns about having limited opportunities to conduct an internship in different companies and to have the possibilities of implementing in practice their theoretical knowledge gained through studies.
