Serbian Commission for Accreditation and Quality Assurance (CAQA) visit to Vienna
Belgrade. On November 19-20 2008, within the framework of the project Support to the Serbian Accreditation Agency, representatives of the Serbian CAQA were hosted by the FH Council (FHR) in Vienna.
The FHR was represented by Prof. Dr. Leopold Marz, the president of FHR, as well as Dr. Maria Weber and Dr. Michael Kraft, while the Serbian National Commission for Accreditation and Quality Control was represented by Dr. Milan Aleksic, Dr. Vera Dondur and Dr. Dusica Pavlovic. Mr. Goran Ostojic – Regional Manager for Serbia, was present on behalf of WUS Austria.
The participants discussed various topics related to accreditation and quality assurance, as seen from the external perspective, with emphasis on key processes in program accreditation and evaluation procedures.
The Serbian delegation also had an opportunity to consider these topics from an internal perspective, by visiting two Universities of Applied Sciences in Vienna.
The first visit was to the FH Technikum Wien, where the Rector, Prof. Dr. Fritz Schmollebeck and his collaborators, presented their institution, their study programs and discussed the interaction between the internal and external quality assurance.
The second visit was to the FH Campus Wien, where the Rector, Prof. Dr. Heinz Schmidt and his collaborators, also presented their institution and tackled the topics related to self evaluation of the institution and study programs, quality function deployment in curriculum development, development of new study programs, etc.
Both visits ended with interesting discussions and tours of the universities.
