Call for participation in seminar Development of II and III cycle degree programmes
WUS Austria has the pleasure to invite you to take part in Development of II and III cycle degree programmes seminar that will take place on 12.-13.03.2009 at University of Banja Luka in Banja Luka.
WUS Austria is organising a seminar primarily intended for its direct partners involved in implementation of the Degree Development Structure (DDS) project, which is being implemented within WUS Austria’s program “Austrian Support to Higher Education in Bosnia and Herzegovina 2008 – 2011” financed by Austrian Development Cooperation (ADC).
Due to the complexity of standards foreseen in the frame of the European higher education reforms, implementation of the reform processes is still an ongoing process in whole Europe. Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) as a part of European higher education reforms is not an exception to this. Thus, BiH is faced with the need for development of 2nd and 3rd degree programmes, but also the need for development of partnerships and exchanging experience with other higher education institutions in order to re-think the role of the first cycle, reform the second and reshape the third cycle. Furthermore, this has to be done by constantly having in mind bigger involvement and consideration of the labour market, enabling bigger mobility of students, as well as internationalisation i.e. competitiveness of the developed programmes.
Taking into account relevance and the overall importance of the topics offered, WUS Austria decided to make the seminar open to the wider BiH academic community.
