Seminar: "Improvement of teaching processes - Case study method"

Sarajevo. The accompanying measure of the Balkan Case Challenge 2009, the seminar “Improvement of teaching processes - Case study method" took place in Sarajevo on the 22nd of January, 2009. This seminar gave an insight to the theoretical and practical aspects of the case study method and ways in which the case study method can link the university institutions with companies.

Foreseen within the Balkan Case Challenge project as an accompanying measure, the seminar "Improvement of teaching processes - Case study method” was held on Thursday, 22 January 2009. The seminar took place at the Faculty of Economics in Sarajevo.

This seminar gave an insight to the theoretical and practical aspects of the case study method and ways in which the case study method can link the university institutions with companies.

The participants of the seminar were professors, teaching assistants, university management representatives and students from the following faculties: Faculty of Economics in Sarajevo, Faculty of Sciences in Sarajevo, Faculty of Civil Engineering in Sarajevo, Faculty of Foreign Trade in East Sarajevo).

The seminar started with the opening speech of Mr. Dino Mujkic, MSc, Regional Manager of WUS Austria who delivered a short presentation on the Balkan Case Challenge project, its aims and accomplishments.

The seminar consisted of three lectures from university and business environment.

All participants were kindly asked to answer a topic-related questionnaire targeted at three stakeholder groups: professors, university management and students.

The seminar "Improvement of teaching processes - Case study method" introduced encouraging examples of case study method practice from BH universities and businesses (international and local perspective) and emphasized the role of the CSM as a bridging tool between education and economy.
