Outcomes of Working Groups

WUS Austria organized a seminar on curriculum development and ECTS in Budva (Grand hotel Avala), October 23 - 27, 2006 (for the agenda of the seminar click here) . The aim of the seminar was to inform the lecturers of the supported CDP+ projects (for more information about Course Development Program Plus click here) about the ways of implementation of ECTS - Europe Credit Transfer and Accumulation System - hoping to enable them to become a driving force that would promote ECTS further and largely facilitate and contribute to its full and proper implementation at the universities in Serbia/Montenegro. The seminar brought together the lecturers (for the list of the participants click here) from both Serbian and Montenegrin universities along with university representatives, government officials, EU and local experts in the field of ECTS (for more information about ECTS click here). The idea was to discuss the modes of implementation of ECTS at local universities. On the first day several plenary sessions were organized - both EU and local experts have presented their experiences in implementing ECTS (for experts presentations click here). On the second day, the participants were engaged in discussions through their respective working groups (set up according to the subjects of their courses):

  1. Engineering
  2. Humanities and Social Sciences
  3. Natural Sciences
  4. Medicine
  5. Technology and Metallurgy

On the final day of the event, representatives of each working group have presented the outcomes of their session to the participants of the seminar (for outcomes of working groups click here). These outcomes should be viewed as recommendations for the local universities when implementing ECTS.
Having in mind generally good imperssions (for the outcome of the participants evaluations click here), and should the funds be available, WUS Austria plans to organize such seminars in future (for the photographs click here).

The organizers would like to thank to local and EU experts for their excellent presentations and to all participants for vivid and fruitfull discussions.
