Project description
Aimed at facilitating the transition of higher education in SEE towards European standards, the Course Development Program Plus (CDP+) supports the improvement of existing courses and the introduction of new courses at the University of Prishtina. The primary aim of the CDP+ is the creation of innovative courses with regard to teaching methods and course content, but due to the fact that those courses must become part of the faculty’s curriculum, the CDP+ indirectly affects and promotes the curriculum development of the supported faculties.
The CDP+ grant covers the following: stipend for the teacher who modifies or introduces a new course (including the preparation phase), a fund for scientific literature, the costs of a study visit at a foreign university (optional; preferable at an Austrian university; max. 2 weeks) or the costs of an invitation of a partner from an EU university, and the purchase of equipment (under certain conditions). The provision of equipment in the framework of the CDP+ is not only bound to certain conditions but also limited to a maximum amount of EUR 15.000/project. Additionally, the CDP+ includes ECTS trainings for the applicants of approved projects at the University of Prishtina.
Finally the best CDP+ is awarded in a ceremony at the end of the project, where not only the granted lecturer, but also the hosting faculty is honoured, thus strengthening the commitment of the staff and the universities. One of the aims of CDP+ is also to give examples of best practice and to generate publicity for its achievements and the importance of curriculum development at large.
