Project description
The aim of the project is to promote the right to health of children and underage mothers in the slums of Nairobi. This will be achieved through awareness raising in social work with a particular focus on drug prevention. Main results of the project include:
(1) a literature review on the situation of children in Korogocho and risks with regard to drug use,
(2) Preparation of a guideline for social workers on drug prevention in social work based on in-depth/focus group interviews,
(3) Training for social workers in Nairobi, and
(4) Outreach work by social workers with the aim of promoting a healthy lifestyle among children and ultimately preventing drug abuse of children and adolescent mothers.
This project is a follow-up to the project: Improving life skills of young mothers in the slums of Nairobi which was implemented in 2022.
